Terrorism Against Islam!
As ironically as it sounds, it is nutmegged in the present reality of the day. It goes a long way to contradict the popular opinion of the people on terrorism and it needs some moment of clarity, rehabilitation and gradual sensitization before people can re-identify with terrorism as a non Islamic sect.

The reality of this melodrama is gradually dawning on the Islamic critics turn cynics who bask on the euphoria of ignorantly criticizing the religious and ascribing it with terrorism or succintly put, how else do you identify with the recent trend of bombings and sporadical gun shooting in mosques and Islamic communities.

Only this morning, we woke up to the sad news of a bombing of a mosque in Maiduguri. The incident took place in the wee hour of the morning at Dalori quarter in a mosque opposite the University of Maiduguri when the Muslim faithfuls were observing their morning prayers.

Sad as it may, the tragic incident which entirely contradicts the porous minds of the non conformists who believe Islam and terrorism are synonymous and it will hence go a long to advocate the selfless services of the United Nations, African Union, European Union et al, at making sure there is even a stronger awareness campaign against global terrorism and it delineation from Islam as a religious.

In another related incident, this time in Canada, they was a mosque shooting at Quebec City Islamic Cultural Center during the evening prayers on sunday by some terrorist gang who ended up killing about 6 people leaving many scathed and breathing on life support.

The fight against terrorism is by no mean a fight against an Islamic sect but a fight against the misguided group who believe in cold blood murder as a mean to drive their opinion or belief to the world at large. Some  of their leaders cannot even recite a verse in the Quran.

Sadly, people like this still exist and they propel their interest by adopting this evil and uncivil act of savagery, thereby bringing fear and vulnerability upon the people.

Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau comments also deserves some mentioning here, where he was directly speaking to the over 1 million Muslims living in his country that "We are with you". He went further to say "Thirty-six million hearts are breaking with yours, know that we value you".

If national leaders, religious principals, heads of monarchs and the rest of us can unite and shower such passionate thought across to victims of this ungodly incidents, then I see the world truly uniting to counter global terrorism.

Barrow Removes Islamic From The Gambia’s Official Name

New president of The Gambia, Adams Barrow has changed the official name of the country from 'Islamic Republic of The Gambia' to 'Republic of The Gambia'.

If you recall on Dec 12, 2015 that former president Yahya Jammeh declared country an Islamic state.

More recently, new The Gambian president Adana Barrow has removed Islamic from the country's name which he says is a republic not Islamic republic as alleged by the immediate past president Yahya Jammeh.

The new president said The Gambia, whose population is 90% Muslim, with the rest Christian and animist, was a republic "not the Islamic republic".

Random Thoughts: Economic Importance of Mosquitoes

On this very day with my random thought garb on. I wandered round and took a screeching halt at the mosquito door step.

Here was my thought:

What are the positive economic importance of mosquitoes (sef)?

I began to wonder what exactly they were, definitely there has to be some, else, we would be confabulating wiping them out thoroughly out of the face of the earth. Extinction!

Like the scientists will spell it out, the first thing to do is to discover the problem, which I have done. Now I did some little guess work myself before I researched further on the topic.

As a pointer, I'm not here to deliberate on their damaging role as vectors and transmitters of malaria infections. But I must also bring to your notice that in an area where there are no disease or infected person, mosquitoes cannot harm anybody as they can not transmit any harmful disease to anybody.

As part of their useful role;

*The larvae of mosquitoes live in water and provide food for fish and other wildlife, including larger larvae of other species such as dragonflies.

*The larvae themselves eat microscopic organic matter in the water, helping to recycle it.

*Adult mosquitoes make up part of the diet of some insect-eating animals, such as birds, bats, adult dragonflies and spiders.

*They also help pollinate some flowers, when they consume nectar.

These reasons explains why we will never have any agitation for ridding them out for extinction or any international agency being set up for their complete eradication.

Sadly, in as much as they cause so many havoc as regards health hazards and death to the environment in terms of spread of diseases, they are equally of great importance to you and I.

Picture Of Buhari With Amosun Online Is Fake?

Again the state of health of President Mohammadu Buhari is the topic and this time it is The Nigerian Wailers with the Twitter handle @NGRWailer who have come to debunk the originality of yesterday's trending picture of the president with Senator Diasy Danjuma and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.

This picture was released on Friday few moments from when the earlier picture was released. It shows the president with the same attire but this time with Atiku Abubakar and claiming that it was a picture of the last time he was sick.

Surely the state of health of the president Mohammadu Buhari is still the topic presently taking different turns at different hour.

If you would recall that there are some ongoing rumour of his health being at a critical stage, some are even reporting of his death.

But the President Buhari who is in the UK on a 10 days vacation, from where he would undergo a medical check-up as reported by the president before his departure, is yet to put the minds of his beloved citizens at rest.

LAUTECH Yet To Resume?

New report filtering in reveals that the students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso may have resumed for their academic studies like we earlier reported here but they are no signs or communications between them and the teaching staff.

It is reported that the lecturers have vowed not to resume for classes even if the students resume.

“The truth is that there have been no efforts to ensure that we resume; students who have resumed are only here to play and really we will not resume until our demands are met,” he said. “We have said until our demands are met, we will not resume and that is what we are doing today.”

The chairman of ASUU, LAUTECH Chapter, Biodun Olaniran, was said to have issued some statements which reinforced the stance of the lectures not to resumes until their demands are met thoroughly.

He said “If the students stay in school for one or two weeks, I don’t know what they will be doing, until we get a directive from our national body after our demands have been met, we remain on strike.”

“We have received just one month with a promise to pay the remaining one month today or tomorrow,” Mr. Olaniran said. “Our demand is not about salary, even if we receive the alert , we will not call off the strike.”

We hope this issue is being resolved and put to rest on time, to alleviate fears that may arise from noncompliance with the authority.

Prophets and the Death of Buhari Prophecy

Men of God and prophecies have a symbiotic relationship once its the turn of a new year.

They just want their congregation to feel the intensity of the arena, when they get consumed by the holy spirit as they claim, they begin to utter all sort of possible predictions as I claim.

The sad part is that all men of God as they claim, all want to get popular so easily, move from their temporary location to a permanent site and finally they get a camp (if its in Nigeria, the best camps are at Lagos - Ibadan express way), where they can have international standards to rip the cash out of their members.

Don't get me wrong, they are whatever you feel they are, but when men of God come all here and make empty predictions like some beer parlour discussions. That's like inviting heavy criticism.

As Adama Barrow Returns To The Gambia

As The Gambian new president, Adama Barrow arrives today in the country amid tight security with heavily-armed troops from Nigeria and Senegal standing by as he flew in from Senegal, where he had escaped to since January 15 as a measure from the then president Yahya Jammeh.

He was accompanied by his wives and children. He was also welcomed by the military officials and members of his new parliament.

There was a gathered crowd awaiting president Barrow with drummers and dancers firing up the crowds.

Buhari As A Principal Actor To Effect A Change

Great leaders are made not burn. At least that goes a long way to explain some level of disturbing facts about our President's apotheosis of leadership.

To drift a little, its no news expressing the brisk with which American president Donald Trump has sprung into action. He has covered grounds and channeled his motivation to his campaign promises borne out of his consciousness and commitment to his people's desires.

He is leaving no stone unturned in achieving his set goals and for most readers who will be wondering what exactly has he done already to effect this rhetorics. A whole lot I tell you, from pulling down climate change and LGBT page from the white house website to freezing the FG hirings. He recently promised to cut down on regulations and corporate taxes, he his looking to pull out of NAFTA, he has formally withdrawn from TPP, following his party legacy; he has placed ban on international abortion counseling and thorough review of the methodology of Health Insurance scheme better known as Obamacare, he initiated moves to erect the wall on their neighbor Mexico et al.

Back to the matter of discussion, our very own Mohammadu Buhari has not lived up to the popular surmise, he has failed to ply the path layed down by his election campaign promises since his inauguration day of about 20 months ago.

He has failed woefully to clamp down on corruption, he has not been able to prosecute adequately all the charged victims. He has failed to obey the rule of law especially on some selected culprits. He has yet to arrest completely fears of terrorism and suicide bombers trolling down the North Eastern part of the country.

His age and experiences which are supposed to be adds on and bonuses sort of, are nowhere visible to the eyes especially at handling sensitive matters that can arouse tensions and incite war, secessions and civil unrest, he has not been helpful with the way he's attending to the case of the IPOB, the Northern Kaduna crises between the Christians and the Muslims which have no doubt threatened to cause public unrest and invite so many chaos.

It is sickening that he has not come to the aid of the average Nigerian with the complete economic meltdown ravaging the common man to pieces. He has not come on par with his election promises and its almost two years on. What plan do you have within a year to the next elections?
It's argument only for the dissent mind to counter argue, but it does not deny the de facto truth that he has performed below expectation.

He methods of governance have been lopsided and incoherent, he has protected his aids and loyalists from the gruesome reach of the different national security agencies.

There's a Yoruba maxim that says "a saturday that will be merry would have been observed on a friday". Things are already beyond control and grip of this present government, it needs a total reform and a think outside the box approach at the moment.

Like Albert Einstein famously exclaimed that "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results". He's been on it for almost two years now, at the pace of a snail,  and he's no where ready to change his approach either.

I still see a green light at the end of this nation's tunnel but not with this present government. They have lost it completely, sadly no positive change will come about this way only a rainfall of hardship like he is presently overseeing. A government where hardship is the order of the day.

Usain Bolt Stripped of Olympic Gold Medal

In case you missed the headline, yeah, the world beloved Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was today stripped of his Olympic gold medal.

Usain Bolt has lost one of his 9 Olympic gold medals after team mate Nesta Carter was found guilty of doping at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In re-tests of his sample, he was found to have taken the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reported, which invariably implies Jamaica's 4x100 metres relay team must give back their gold medals.

Of course, Usain Bolt had a lot to say about this sad revelation. When confronted with the news, he said "It's heartbreaking because over the years you've worked hard to accumulate gold medals and work hard to be a champion... but it's just one of those things," Bolt lamented.

"Things happen in life, so when it's confirmed or whatever, if I need to give back my gold medal I'd have to give it back, it's not a problem for me."

This will leave Bolt who is still very much considered the greatest sprinter of all time, having won an unprecedented treble of consecutive golds in the 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay in three straight Olympics.

The Oscar Nominees are Finally Out

The nominations for the 89th Academy Awards were announced in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

And the movies which dominated most of the categories were usual topguns for 2016; La La Land, Hell or High Water, Fences and Manchester By the Sea.

 The likes of Ryan Gosling, Denzel Washington and Casey Affleck were nominated in the Best Actors category, while Meryl Streep, Emma Stone and Natalie Portman will be battling it out for the Best Actress award.

The 89th Academy Awards will be go down on the 26th of February at the Dolby Theatre Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, U.S and hosted by talk show shot, Jimmy Kimmel.

The Over Bleached Jim

The overbleached Jim, the still -mind Ken and the carpet crossing of the carpet baggers in the name of Change.

I see them as expired politicians, frayed in the edges. Even without them accepting it they have run to seeds.  Making a heavy weather of their defection to a new party in their dotage is like clapping for an ancient philosopher whose thought has faded with time.

The aim of defectors is to upend and not flower democracy to flourish.  They belong to the past but they refuse to be benched.  They are unwary of the golden future but ever consumed with their inglorious past.  The future belongs to the youths.

Chief Richard Akinjide was in NPN when the party was not in the hearts of many people in the South West region. He was despised by some and cavil led at by others, yet he never shifted his ground. Men of principle stands like a rock at a time of moral crisis. But Democracy as Sam Omatseye noted is not only about taking a right decision, it can be wrong. Just like the decisions of Jim Nwobodo, Ken Nnamani  and others who recently ported to APC from PDP.

Sadly ,here we  are still talking about party differences when the world democracy is people, not party - centered.  As Trump rightly observed in his inaugural speech, it is not about which party controls our government but whether our government is controlled by the people.  In the modern world, people who are always in  the silent majority not the mouthful party icons win elections.

If those who are now jumping ship to APC has any shine to lend to the party why did they leave PDP in utter darkness?  They are not better than a sundial in the stygian darkness. Useless.

As Mahatama Ghandi once said "YOU must be the change you want to see in the world". The sea of deportees are mouthing Change, but it is easier said than done.. Or may be my friend who concluded that defectors are  looking for a buffer zone where their bagful of sins will not be opened is right afterall . Time will tell.

LAUTech Strike and the Panacea of a Repeat

As the students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTech) prepare for the school's resumption come Friday, 27th January, 2017 after a long strike action of about 8 months, it's imperative to look explicitly into details and reasons why the action occurred and offer solutions.

Good news for a great institution, the citadel of learning and a great reminder of what the Old Oyo Empire used to be in power and land mass. But it's also a compunction that it is explicitly a reminder of the remote cause of a dispute that holds to degenerate the reputation and legacy of the great institution.

In my honest opinion, this dispute will repeat itself, since the remote cause of the dispute between the two states have still not been attended to.

Each state with its varying individual short and long term policy, IGR, monthly and annual expenditure and what have you. These factors will come into play at every instances and it will determine a great deal of their contributions to the growth of the institution. These factors will arouse contempt and indifferences which MAY in the nearest future bring about a repeat of this type of closure and strike action.

The best institutions in the world are controlled by private entity less owned by two governors, so despicable. I can't cease to wonder, how do two states own a university? Unheard of anywhere else! Also, these are not the best times to throw blames or a time to adjudge a party guilty but a time to hold steadfast to sanity and offer swift panacea to this untimely event.

Right at a time the school is preparing for their examinations. The root of the matter ought to be addressed discreetly to forbid future occurrence.

The future of our youths should not be a game or a toy story. Governments need to have a concrete structure on ground to exterminate a future contingency. If they can't uphold the standard of the institution, they better find an avenue to sell it off to a proper body or organisation that is capable of running the financial affairs of the institution properly.

Considering the state of the nation's economy amid terrorism, militancy, religious war, tribal war et al, we need to take great decisions of carrying out proper actions to salvage what is left of our numerous national heritages.

Libya and the Migrants Savagery

There are already several videos and images trending on social media about many ongoing killings in Libya.

So many deaths have been reported about this ongoing genocidal attacks on black migrants. Its ravaging down on the black race unity, this savagely act has been widely reported even by Nigerian top authority.

Most recently, it was reported by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, an assistant to President Buhari on foreign affair and diaspora matters, said she was issuing the warning after seeing a video making the rounds, purporting to show the killing of black migrants in Libya.

She further stated that
"Libyans are dealing with their own struggles as there is no recognised government in place.
The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora hereby appeals again to Nigerian migrants to avoid Libya as penalty for illegal migration to Libya, when caught, is usually a death sentence."

To echo the voices of the pleading eyes home and abroad. We hereby appeal to the listening hears to further spread the gospel truth on this epidemic mayhem arising from the illegal African migrants traveling to and through Libya as it is in a dangerous state at the moment.

Trump's Inaugural Speech and the Nigerian Conundrum

When Trump gave his words and we learnt that we say "Bring Back " not only our girls.
Like all good speeches, Donald Trump's inaugural speech was made for more than its own time.

It speaks volume about America that was at a time the mast or bastion if you like, of global democracy. It also says with a tinge of regrets the not too bonny tales of its recent past as well as the determination to revert to the path of greatness for the goodness of the present and renewed hope of a brighter future.

Trust Americans ,they don't copy they are rather copied. The soothing message of restoration that came out of Trump was far bigger than Trumps brains. He has given America his words and he must keep it. Just as Napoleon Bonaparte once said "The best way to keep ones word is not to give it". And to quote Trump himself "We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action. The time for empty talk is over."

You can agree that America through the moving speech of Trump has just set the pace  for other countries. It has raked up the spirit of patriotism above our primordial nepotism. It has opened our eyes to the fact that "what matters is not which party controls our government but whether our government is controlled by the people."

The speech unlocked the mysteries hitherto lurking around us yet invisible.  It demonstrates the power of the will to succeed. It fillips the hope of greatness coming in the way of the Americans. It gingers us to look back at those things we need so much but have missed very much.

We can still bring back those things to make the world a better place. To me, first in the list of "to bring backs" in Nigeria is our value system and intellectual virtues. It is then we can clearly separate the good as Aristotle once did, "as that which is good" from the bad. We need to bring back our patriotic fervour and love for the nation first. We need to bring back our education. Bring back our lost monuments. BRING back our wealth and employment. Bring back our pride. Bring back our Agriculture. Bring back our road network. Bring back our tales by moonlight. Bring back our Kootu Ashipa, Awada Kerikeri on TV etc etc. We have lost all, we need to bring back no girls. With all those in place, even without shouting bring back our girls, our girls would walk back to us smiling.

As for Trump "America will start winning again. Winning like ever before. We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. We will bring back our dreams".

I agree with Trump, we all have a lot to bring back from the good old days.  Little wonder Donald Trump, the 45th president of America starts by calling for national patriotism day as first official act. Can we copy that if we can't beat it. Happy weekend my country people. You can also add to what you think we need to bring back as a people to move the nation forward. Thanks.

Trump Will Make America Great Again!

He's been there, done that! He has been vilified, underestimated and each time, I suppose, he has proved cynics wrong. But here he is, changing completely the rhythm and melody of the tunes in his much anticipated grip at the helms of the American government, albeit not certainly expecting - no less - a celebrated public view of him.

In all fairness, running a government, especially the United States of America is no ball games or grand-business as usual. Yet the elected president of America is going to do it - his way! Doing it particularly 'his way' promises so much differences from the pre-election times, yet he's not a man known for running away from taking risks.
Only recently, he has selected some 21 members of his upcoming cabinet and advisers to be his political brain and juggernaut when he assumes the oval office come today. He's rather unrelenting about his pre-election overview of an Obama led corrupt democratic government hence the need for a complete overhaul with different background - American business top bosses (like-minds).

Already at this point, varying views are trooping in and a balance of erudite and experienced opinion can't be purged out of sight especially when carefully harnessed into a projection and debatable forum of conceptions. Some say Donald Trump is building a cabinet in his own image: blunt-talkers with real-world experience. Other asserts that "experience is key to running a government".

While many on the other hand will agree that Trump is a man who fears no foe and won’t exude an inkling of freight now.

He will go places and he will touch lifes, he will radiate the mindset of the salient majority of the American citizens. A telling fact that later became a resultant actions of the results of the November 8 election.

He's already putting so much in place and ready for take off today. According to confirmed reports from the President-elect's incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spice, Donald Trump is ready from day one to put to pen some alterations and inceptions of major projects ranging from Obamacare, the fight against ISIS, immigration (The Wall) and a lobbying ban are high on the list of early executive orders.

I'm not much of a pessimist, so that might account for why I see so much greatness yielding from Donald Trump's pledged efforts.

I believe he will make America great again!

Mistaken Bomb in IDP Camp

Someone asked that; does Nigeria even have a fighter jet?

It's unexplainable how that accident ever occurred or may be it isn't an accident?

However way the military tries to beam the fatal error and make a public pronouncement on the incident is another line to anticipate in the nearest future.

Completely unfathomable, my question is this; Will this fatal error by the Nigerian military be recorded in respect with the violation of the human right law by the international community?

My honest opinion?

The United Nations and other bodies at large need to sanction the Nigerian military on this grave erroneous misdeed. Heads need to roll, people need to lose their jobs and whatever arousing contempt within the affairs of government or the military forces need to be revealed and counteracted upon.

This cidal act should not just be treated like one of those news or tragic incident that spring up daily in the country. The president has a huge responsibility to obtain credible information surrounding the tragic incident.

I share my deep condolences with the families of the lost souls and the injured one's, who have so become double victims of bomb blasts from the North Eastern region of the country. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
