Brown made the announcement in a brief video for TMZ. Bobbi Kristina Brown is awake, according to her father Bobby Brown. The announcement comes nearly three months after Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home.
She has spent the time in a coma, with decreasing hope of recovery, until this past week. In the video, Brown’s father says that Bobbi is awake and adds: "She's watching me," which could indicate that his daughter, the only child of the late Whitney Houston, isn't out of the clear yet. "We've moved her to a place for rehabilitation,"
Bobby Kristina's 81-year-old grandmother, Cissy Houston, told New York radio station WBLS 107.5 FM on March 25 about the undisclosed facility. "And you know, still not a great deal of hope. (We're) still praying." Brown has been open about how tough the past three months have been for him. Just over a week ago was the last time Brown opened up about his daughter on stage, but he didn't seem so positive.
"I dunno what the hell I am going through right now," he said on April 11 at a soul-food festival in downtown Los Angeles, "but I am giving it to God and letting him deal with it." The circumstances around Bobbi Kristina’s coma appeared eerily similar to those of her mother’s death in 2012. Whitney Houston was also discovered in a bathtub, after what was later confirmed as a cocaine overdose.
