Beyonce And Jay-Z To Release Joint Album On Tidal

Rumors surfaced that Beyoncé and Jay Z were working on a joint album. And it appears that a 2015 release is inevitable.

According to reports, the highly-anticipated project is nearing completion and will be released exclusively via TIDAL, Jay Z’s streaming service.

This would not be surprising since TIDAL has already produced exclusives from hip-hop’s superstar couple. Jay Z premiered his “Glory” video earlier this month via Tidal and Beyoncé debuted the piano ballad “Die With You” dedicated to her husband.

Jay Z launched TIDAL in March with a star-studded press conference, which was attended by Rihanna, Kanye West, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, and more.

“Our goal is simple. We want to create a better service and a better experience for both fans and artists,” said Alicia Keys, who is one of the owners. “And that is our

promise to the world. Our mission goes beyond commerce. It goes beyond technology. Our intent is to preserve music’s importance in our lives.”

TIDAL bills itself as the first music streaming service that combines high-fidelity sound quality, high-definition music videos, and expertly-curated editorial. It offers artists up to twice the payouts as its rivals.

Frank Ocean Legally Changes Name

Frank Ocean is now just Frank Ocean. The Grammy- winning singer has legally changed his name.

According to reports , Ocean got a judge in L.A. to approve the name switch from his birth name, Christopher Edwin Breaux, to his stage name, Frank Ocean.

Ocean filed legal documents a year ago to make the switch, but a judge halted the process until Frank resolved his driver’s license suspension.

The 27-year-old is gearing up to release his Boys Don’t Cry album and magazine in July.

It's official!

"Fast and Furious" star Vin Diesel confirmed at Universal's CinemaCon panel, an annual event for theater owners, that the next installment to the franchise is happening. The currently untitled eighth chapter will be released April 14, 2017.

"We're going to make the best movie you've ever seen," the actor said in announcing the date.

£60,000 For Ticket To Mayweather and Pacquauo Fight?

Tickets for next week's fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquauo should finally go on sale on Thursday, with some expected to cost £60,000 ($100,000) on the resale market.

The MGM Grand in Las Vegas has a capacity of 16,500 but only about 1,000 seats can be bought by the public. The rest will go to the fighters, the casino, sponsors and promoters.

The cheapest ticket for the 2 May bout will cost £1,000 ($1,500), rising to around £6,700 ($10,000). The MGM also announced the sale of thousands of closed circuit seats at its various properties at £100 ($150) apiece.

With nine days to the fight, the sale of tickets had become a key issue. Reports claimed they had been unavailable because the two sides were arguing over who got what tickets and where they were located.

Mayweather's promoter, Leonard Ellerbe, said tickets would probably go on sale on Thursday. "I'm doing my very, very best to get them on sale tomorrow," he said on Wednesday. "I don't have a time yet."

Asked about the delay, Mayweather responded: "I don't worry about tickets, I worry about the guy in front of me. Manny Pacquiao that's my whole focus. Tickets is something I don't deal with." American Mayweather has won all 47 of his fights, 26 by knockout, while Filipino Pacquiao has a record of 57 wins, five losses and two draws.

Mayweather used Wednesday's conference call to defend his claim that he is a superior fighter to Muhammad Ali, regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in history.

"No disrespect to Muhammad Ali, but he did it in one division," said the 38-year-old Mayweather. "There were some other fights he lost and he's still known as 'The Greatest' because that's what he put out there. It is what it is. "He called himself 'The Greatest' and I call myself 'TBE' (The Best Ever). I'm pretty sure I'll get criticised for what I said,
but I couldn't care less."

Man Trekking For Buhari Finally Reaches Abuja

Suleiman Hashimu, also called ‘the traveller’ no doubt, has set a historical record as the first man to trek from Lagos to Abuja. In a new interview with newsmen, ‘The Traveller,’ as he is now called, a native of Katsina State, has talked about his over 2 weeks journey.

According to Hashimu, he was in Lagos when Buhari was announced the president-elect of Nigeria, so he left Lagos at about 5am the next day and arrived in Ibadan around 6pm. Narrating his ordeal to newsmen upon his arrival in Abuja, Hashimu said he had gone to get a police report at Ibadan to allow for an unimpeded journey, but that as he could not wait for the processes to be completed, the divisional police officer (DPO) gave him his phone number.

Hashimu said when he first embarked on the journey, many persons discouraged him, especially family members but he never gave up. He told journalists that in Ilorin, people accompanied him for several miles until he stopped at Oloru, where he received much hospitality in Jebba. He said unlike other villages, he met people who had heard of him.

He further explained that about 20 people set off with him from Jebba and after some miles, 18 turned back, but the other two were more strong-minded and followed him. The Traveller narrated how they encountered armed robbers close to Mokwa, but that, fortunately, he had already met one of them in Jega and the would-be robber ended up giving him N200 for ‘pure’ (sachet) water.

Hashimu said he continued his trip from Mokwa to Kudu, then from Kutigi to Bida, and then to Suleja, after which he arrived in Abuja yesterday. Upon his arrival in Abuja on Monday, many residents were already waiting to receive him. When residents of FCT saw him, the chorus of Sai Buhari rented the air. Hashimu Sullivan yesterday received a horse as a gift from the Agora Of Zuba, HRH Mohammed Bello Umar.

Official: Stephen Keshi Signs Extension As Super Eagles Coach

Stephen Keshi on Tuesday agreed to a new two-year contract to coach Nigeria's national men's football team, ending months of uncertainty and speculation over his future.

Many opposed extending Keshi's tenure as the Super Eagles coach after they failed to qualify for the recent CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea. The 53-year-old has called for a fresh start on Tuesday at an official signing ceremony, saying any lingering bitterness needed to be put in the past.

"This is the time for us to come together to fight for this nation," Keshi said, "I am begging you all to please put the past behind and let's start afresh."

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu also described Keshi's second stint as coach as "a new beginning". The entire (NFF) board has absolute confidence in the capacity of Stephen Keshi to take the Super Eagles to new heights," he told reporters.

Keshi's initial contract of three years ran out after last year's FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil, where Nigeria reached the last 16 knockout stages. He had previously steered the side to a win at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, raising his profile in Africa's most populous nation after a string disappointments at the continent's top tournament.

Xenophobia: MTN Warns Nigerians

MTN Nigeria on Monday has forewarned that should there be attacks on its facilities, it might be forced to close shop and 99 per cent of its over 6,000 workforce in the country, who are Nigerians, would be thrown into the labour market.

It also said that calls spurn its services were unjustified as such an act would

affect its support chain, which could further cause another 500,000 Nigerians to

lose their means of livelihood. The company stated this in Lagos some hours after two groups protested in its Abuja and Benin offices against the killing of foreigners in its home country, South Africa.

According to the Corporate Service Executive, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Wale Goodluck, there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in the country, compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians.

Bobby Brown: My Daughter Is Awake!

Brown made the announcement in a brief video for TMZ. Bobbi Kristina Brown is awake, according to her father Bobby Brown. The announcement comes nearly three months after Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home.

She has spent the time in a coma, with decreasing hope of recovery, until this past week. In the video, Brown’s father says that Bobbi is awake and adds: "She's watching me," which could indicate that his daughter, the only child of the late Whitney Houston, isn't out of the clear yet. "We've moved her to a place for rehabilitation," 

Bobby Kristina's 81-year-old grandmother, Cissy Houston, told New York radio station WBLS 107.5 FM on March 25 about the undisclosed facility. "And you know, still not a great deal of hope. (We're) still praying." Brown has been open about how tough the past three months have been for him. Just over a week ago was the last time Brown opened up about his daughter on stage, but he didn't seem so positive.

"I dunno what the hell I am going through right now," he said on April 11 at a soul-food festival in downtown Los Angeles, "but I am giving it to God and letting him deal with it." The circumstances around Bobbi Kristina’s coma appeared eerily similar to those of her mother’s death in 2012. Whitney Houston was also discovered in a bathtub, after what was later confirmed as a cocaine overdose.

Rapper Vector Failed To Attend A Video Shoot In Ibadan

The popular rap star Vector was in Ibadan on Friday for a video shoot in a yet-to-be released song titled Igboro by the popular IB crooner Tundey fa Tundey. The track was produced by Gberatinrin Studio (GTS) in Ibadan and directed by Moe Musa and Ab Fresh. 

The song was rumoured to be released once the video work is completed but as we heard, the lyrical rap star VEC failed to appear for his part of the video. It was rumoured he and his manager were having a swell time swimming, mingling and having so much belated fun in an exotic 5 star hotel with their Ibadan peeps and (could you believe) forgot to attend the video shoot they were brought down and paid for. 

The Gberatinrin Studio crew were really devastated by such unwarranted situation, haphazard mess and the embarassing predicament they were put through after so much money and hype that surrounded the project. 

A Maths Puzzle Goes Viral; When Is Cheryl's Birthday

Singapore.
From there, people around the world have been trying to figure out Cheryl's birthday, or at least wondering why she couldn’t just save everyone a lot of trouble and be more direct with Albert and Bernard.

The wording of the problem is terrible, so here is a clearer version, which makes some of the assumptions more obvious but which does not change any of the underlying logic of the problem:

Albert and Bernard just met Cheryl. “When’s your birthday?” Albert asked Cheryl.
Cheryl thought a second and said, “I’m not going to tell you, but I’ll give you some clues.” She wrote down a list of 10 dates:

Cheryl only whispered the day, so how could he have more information than Albert?

PFA Releases Shortlist For EPL Player Of The Year Award

The Professional Footballer's Association (PFA) have announced their shortlist for this season's Player of the Year award, with Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Diego Costa in the list.

The pair are joined by Manchester United's David De Gea, Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Tottenham's Harry Kane.

There is no place, however, for the likes of Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero or Morgan Schneiderlin.

Hazard, De Gea, Coutinho and Kane are also nominated for the Young Player of the Year prize alongside Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and Liverpool's Raheem Sterling.

Aaron Hernandez Court Verdict: Guilty Of First Degree Murder

Former New England Patriots' star Aaron Hernandez nodded no as jurors in his Massachusetts trial found him guilty Wednesday of first degree murder, which carries a penalty of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Hernandez was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He will be sentenced Wednesday morning.

As the verdict was read, the former standout tight end appeared upset but calm -- pursing his lips and taking a deep breath, as his lawyer James Sultan put his arm around him. He looked over to see his mother and fiancee weeping.

Hernandez was on trial for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, whose body was found in a Massachusetts industrial park in June 2013.

Lloyd's family appeared anxious in the Fall River, Massachusetts, courtroom prior to the verdict, as did the mother of Hernandez.

After the verdict, Lloyd's relatives thanked and embraced members of the prosecution team.

Prosecutors took months to present more than 130 witnesses to build their case. The defense wrapped up its witnesses in less than a day.

Prosecutors say Lloyd was seen June 17, 2013, around 2:30 a.m. with Hernandez and Hernandez's friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, in a rented silver Nissan Altima. Later that day, a jogger found his body riddled with gunshots.

Wallace and Ortiz, who were also charged with murder, have pleaded not guilty, and will be tried separately.

Hernandez's attorney, Sultan, told jurors that Hernandez "witnessed" Lloyd's killing, "committed by somebody he knew," and that the former NFL player "really didn't know what to do, so he put one foot in front of another" and moved on with his life.

Eric Cantona Tips Man Utd For Title Next Season

Eric Cantona says Manchester United are on track to win the Premier League next season.

The Old Trafford legend labelled his former club "kings of the city" after Sunday's 4-2 victory over Manchester City lifted them four points clear of their neighbours into third place in the table.

And Cantona, who scored 64 goals in 143 appearances for United between 1992/97, believes the players are now buying into manager Louis van Gaal's 'philosophy'.

Speaking at the launch of the Laureus World Sports Awards, which take place in Shanghai on Wednesday, the Frenchman said: "It’s always great to win a derby, so I was very proud and glad. United are now kings of the city.

"The two clubs are two of the best clubs in England, so it's very important to win this game. United is a great club, sometimes you have a season where you have to lose games and finish fourth or fifth.

"But it’s a great club and will be at the top. Next year, they can win the league. With a manager from Holland, it seems to be important for Manchester United.

"Maybe they work hard on young players, I don't know," he said. "We will see. But it hasn't come along.  

"The Premier League is so strong. It has so many clubs, so many rich clubs also, and so many clubs who work on young players. Some of them work on the young players and can buy the best players in the world, like United.

"I prefer this kind of club, who are rich enough to buy the best players they want, and also work on young players."

In the Instagram.com footage the Umbrella hit maker appears seated at a table while two of her friends dance in front of her, and some eagle-eyed fans thought they saw something they shouldn't have.

The viewers commented it looked like Rihanna was snorting cocaine, and she quickly took to social media on Tuesday to refute the allegations.

Rihanna wrote, "Your lame a** got some f**king nerve!!! Any fool could se (sic) that's a joint that I'm basing with a cigarette (sic). "Who tF (the f**k) snorts tobacco??!! Fayose Reacts To The Supreme Court Ruling And Embraces The APC

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has released a statement to celebrate his victory after the Supreme Court final judgement turned out in his favour.

The Governor in the statement appreciated the support he got from his people, saying that the final judgment today shows that the people are ‘unequivocal about their choices’.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday morning in a unanimous decision upheld the election of Mr. Ayodele Fayose as the Ekiti State Governor.

‎In the ruling by the seven-man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi, the Supreme Court upheld the earlier decisions of the Court of Appeal and the Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal, which had both ruled that the petition challenging Fayose’s victory lacked merit.

In the lead judgment delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, the apex court dismissed all the grounds of appeal filed by the petitioner – the All Progressives Congress – and resolved all four issues arising from the appeal against Fayose’s victory.

The governor in the statement also said that from the judgment, necessary lessons must have been learnt as ”it is obvious that Nigeria is evolving democratically.”

"I want to sincerely appreciate Ekiti people for their resilience and love for me. I am formally dedicating this victory to God and to them. Having voted for me ten months ago, and confirming the victory by the subsequent elections in the last few weeks, they have shown that they are unequivocal about their choice and their determination to protect and defend that mandate.I cannot but appreciate the Apex Court for protecting democracy and also for living to the expectation of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Mahmud Mohammed, who had assured that under his leadership, the judiciary would not subscribe to any plot to change the outcome of elections through the instrumentality of the Court.

I think the necessary lessons must have been learnt and it is obvious that Nigeria is evolving democratically. To my opponents, I plead with you to sheath your sword and join me in the development of Ekiti State. If truly our struggle is about service to our dear State, it is time to come together and channel all our resources towards the development of the State.

I am irrevocably committed to the protection of all, including the opposition in the State. Nobody is infallible, and I am not a perfect being. The only one that is perfect is God, but He, in His infinite mercies has made me the Governor of Ekiti State today. I have a term and tenure; there will be another opportunity for Ekiti people to decide who governs them.

Rather than trouble the peace of the State, our friends in the opposition parties should accept the will of God concerning our dear State and wait till 2018. I thank all stakeholders and I am assuring them that I will leave Ekiti State better than I met it. My special appreciation also goes to the security agencies for being alive to their responsibilities.

Madonna Surprised Drake With An Onstage Kiss at Coachella

Rapper Drake performed the much-loved final set Sunday night at Coachella.
Leading up to the performance, rumors swirled that Rihanna and Jay Z, both
collaborators, were set to join Drake onstage and surprise the massive crowd.

But it was Madonna who appeared midway through the rapper's 75-minute set, right after he sang the song "Madonna" off his newly released "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" album.

The 56-year-old pop star took the stage to perform "Human Nature":

She went in for a long, juicy kiss, but Drake, who seemed genuinely shocked by the kiss, didn't seem to enjoy it.

Official: Hillary Clinton Announces She Running For President

Hillary Clinton put an end to months of speculation on Sunday by officially announcing her candidacy for president, giving the former secretary of state another shot at cracking the highest glass ceiling in American politics.

The initial word came in an email to supporters from John Podesta, a longtime Clinton ally, then a video launched on YouTube and a newly launched Facebook page. 

"I'm getting ready to do something too. I'm running for president," Clinton said in the video. "Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion -- so you can do more than just get by -- you can get ahead. And stay ahead. Because when families are strong, America is strong.  So I'm hitting the road to earn your vote, because it's your time. And I hope you'll join me on this journey."

Clinton's second presidential run is another chapter in a life that has seen the former first lady go from a child raised in a conservative home outside Chicago to one of the most recognizable women in the world. Clinton became a household name in 1992 when her husband, Bill Clinton, won the presidency.

Islamic State Group Attacks Iraq Largest Oil Refinery

The Islamic State group launched a series of suicide attacks on Iraq’s largest oil refinery on Saturday, a senior army officer said.

The jihadist group claimed it broke in to the Baiji oil refinery but the Iraqi army said the site, which has been the scene of fierce battles since the IS group swept across the region last year, remained under its control.

“Today Daesh (an Arab acronym for IS) launched an attack against the Baiji oil refinery,” said a major general from Salaheddin province, in which Baiji is located.

He described the attack on the refinery, which lies around 200 kilometres (120 miles) north of Baghdad, as “the fiercest since we broke the siege a few months ago.”

The officer and other military sources said the attack was launched around 7:00 am (0400 GMT) and led to clashes.

He said IS group militants attacked the large complex from three fronts: Al-Bujwari village to the south, the housing compound for refinery employees to the west and one of the smaller plants producing derivatives to the east.

“Three suicide attackers were able to reach the entrances of the refinery. Two were killed but one managed to blow himself up,” the army officer said.

He said that the Iraqi forces protecting the refinery regained control of the entrances and that the entire site was now under government control.

The IS group released pictures showing convoys of their Humvees attacking the refinery perimeter and of fighters apparently inside the limits of the site.

The army officer said 20 jihadist fighters were killed in raids by the Iraqi air force, although that figure could not be verified.

“Daesh is trying to send the message that they are everywhere but in fact they are defeated and cannot advance,” he said.

The Islamic State group launched a massive offensive on northwestern Iraq in June and swept across much of the country’s sunni Arab heartland within days.

Counter-terrorism and other forces tasked with protecting the vital refinery held out and remained besieged for months.

An Iraqi operation, backed by air strikes from a US-led coalition, eventually broke the siege in October and retook the city, which lies just south of the refinery.

The jihadists have since wrested the city back.

Following their victory in Tikrit earlier this month, government forces will have to re-take it once again as they continue to move north towards the main IS hub of Mosul.

The Baiji refinery once produced some 300,000 barrels of refined petroleum products per day, meeting 50 percent of the country’s needs.
