The Great Haile Gebrselassie Retires From Competitive Running



Haile Gebrselassie has announced his retirement from competitive running, bringing to an end a 25-year career in which he claimed two Olympic gold medals, eight World Championship victories and set 27 world records.

The Ethiopian won his first world championship gold medal for the 10,000 metres in Stuttgart in 1993 at 20 years old. He went on to win four consecutive world championships and hence brings a curtain fall on a trophy laden career.
