Congratulations To CR7 On His Landmark Achievement

Congratulations to Cristiano Ronaldo who scored his 300th goal for Real Madrid on Wednesday away at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

The Portuguese star, who joined the club in a then-world record £70 million transfer from Manchester United in 2009, reached the milestone as he headed home Dani Carvajal's cross in only his 288th appearance in Madrid colours.

The strike against Rayo also leaves him just two goals away from a fifth consecutive 50-goal season, with his 33 in 35 games during his debut 2009-10 campaign marking his only failure to rack up a half century since he arrived in Madrid.

His 300 goals for the Blancos include 214 in La Liga and 60 in the Champions League. As well as 21 Copa del Rey goals, he has also struck three times in the Supercopa de Espana and twice in the European Super Cup.

Ronaldo scored five goals in 31 games for first club Sporting Lisbon before his £10.8m move to Manchester United in 2003. In six seasons at Old Trafford he added 118 in 292 goals, but has taken his goalscoring feats to a new level since arriving in the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid and Spanish newspaper Marca actually claimed that Ronaldo had reached the 300-goal landmark with his fifth in the 9-1 win over Granada on Sunday since both still count a strike by Pepe against Real Sociedad in 2011 as being the striker's goal, despite officials confirming the defender as the scorer.

The 30-year-old is the third highest scorer in Real Madrid's long history, with only Alfredo Di Stefano's 308 and Raul's 323 bettering Ronaldo's current haul.

Ronaldo had earlier been unjustly booked for diving and is set to be suspended for one match as a result
